The Sontronics brand was launched at the NAMM show in 2005 and our products are all designed and developed in the UK.
Our range includes studio condensers, valve mics, ribbon mics and handhelds as well as mic capsules, stands, cables, popshields and the 100% British-designed, European-made CHIMERA and SONORA pre-amplifiers.

The STC-80 is a handheld dynamic mic launched in 2008 and has garnered some great reviews. The mic is being used on-stage or in the studio by loads of musicians and producers including Dave Grohl, Jack White, Queens of the Stone Age, Eagles of Death Metal and Extreme to name just a few. In fact, Nuno Bettencourt loved the mic so much that he's fully endorsed it (something he's never done with a microphone before) and has just bought more of them to use in the studio.

A specially commissioned STC-80, with gloss white body and hand-finished gold-leaf covered grille, was recently used by the Pope for his public addresses during an open-air mass on his visit to Portugal in May 2010.
