OMEGA
Valve cardioid condenser microphone

The OMEGA is another of Sontronics’ valve microphones, and it employs a highly sensitive 1.07-inch capsule housed in the large basket, away from the body of the microphone.

The OMEGA’s cardioid polar pattern delivers stunning results when recording vocals, where its proximity characteristics can be used to maximum effect. The rich, warm low frequencies blend together with sparkling highs to produce an extremely satisfying result, reminiscent of the quality experience from microphones costing many times more.

Like HELIOS, the OMEGA has its own dedicated power supply unit, the SPS-2, which has both a low-cut filter and a -10dB attenuation pad.

OMEGA is supplied in a luxury wooden box and, together with its own ‘spider’ shockmount, power supply and cables, it is protected by a high-quality aluminium flightcase.
